Irene’s Christmas Keepsake!

Irene’s Christmas Keepsake!

Hi everyone!

I thought I would make something a little bit different with my Beautiful Moments – Cold Days, Warm Hearts collection. We are due to have a new arrival of a baby girl in our family any time now…my cousin is about to give birth to her first child, so I thought why not make a picture celebrating her first Christmas? I have made this project on 12×12 mount board, so that afterwards it can be placed into a scrapbook to keep.

I started by printing three different Magic Window designs in black and white from the Beautiful Moments – Cold Days, Warm Hearts CD-ROM. I coloured the images with my alcohol markers, before cutting them out into three different-sized circles.

There are so many pretty A4 papers on the CD-ROM! I chose a red and white polka-dot pattern and printed it onto glossy card. I used the same technique as before when cutting out the stamped images. This time, though, I cut out three slightly larger circles and layered my coloured images on top. I like to use glossy card because it adds a touch of luxury and shine, which allows the stamped image to stand out.

Once I had finished layering the coloured images onto the red spotty card, I applied my finishing touches. Using a black fineliner, I drew around the circle to create a stitched effect. I wrote a few little words around the image with the same pen. I then used sparkle overlay pens on the backgrounds, snow and the characters’ clothes, then added glitter to the snow and trees to give that icy winter wonderland effect. I used white ribbon with some red gems in the centres to finish – I wanted them to look like they were Christmas baubles!

I have really enjoyed making this project, and I hope you like it too. Happy Christmas crafting, everyone!

Love and best wishes,

Irene xx
